Warner Bros. Pulling 'Harry Potter' DVDs from Circulation After Dec. 29

Last week, it was reported that the six-minute prologue for 'The Dark Knight Rises' would premiere with prints of 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' when that film debuted in IMAX on Dec. 16. The good news: the rumor has been confirmed by AMC Theaters! The bad news: there's a twist. "The six-minute 'Dark Knight Rises' prologue footage will only be shown on the higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens," said a blog post by AMC. "Not the digital IMAX screens." Which probably doesn't mean all that much to you, other than that some will get to see the footage and some won't. AMC will offer a full list of theaters as Dec. 16 draws closer. [AMC] "Will Aaron Sorkin take on Steve Jobs?" Good question, L.A. Times! Considering Sony purchased the rights to the Walter Isaacson biography on Jobs, and considering that Sorkin wrote 'The Social Network' and co-wrote 'Moneyball' for the studio, let's assume the odds are pretty good that he will. [LAT/24 Frames] John Cusack is officially in everything. Your favorite '80s star has just signed on for 'The Numbers Station,' an action thriller with Malin Akerman. 'Station' follows a "disgraced black-ops agent (Cusack) tasked with a deadend job of protecting a code operator (Akerman) for an isolated covert CIA broadcast station." Just saying: this movie would already be better if they switched roles. Cusack stars in 'The Raven' next spring and has 'The Paperboy' and 'Frozen Ground' coming up. [Variety] Lily Collins will play a high school mean girl in 'The English Teacher,' an indie comedy with the most indie cast ever: Julianne Moore as the titular teacher, Greg Kinnear, Nathan Lane and Michael Angarano. Craig Zisk ('The Big C') directs. [Deadline] Jason Sudeikis has taken another step away from Studio 8H. The 'Saturday Night Live' star will appear opposite Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in 'Dog Fight' from 'Austin Powers' director Jay Roach. The film is about rival politicians fighting over a congressional seat in South Carolina. [THR/Risky Business] 'Bones' star Katheryn Winnick has been cast as the female lead in 'A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III' opposite Charlie Sheen. The Roman Coppola-directed film also stars Jason Schwartzman and Aubrey Plaza and will be the craziest thing you see whenever it actually comes out.
